Stuart Shulman

Mr. Stuart Shulman is a full time Drill Designer and Music Clinician residing in Wylie, TX. Prior to writing full time he was the Assistant Director of Bands at Texas A&M University–Commerce and a high school director at Lake Travis (Austin, TX), James Martin (Arlington, TX) and Forney (TX). At TAMUC he served as the principal conductor of the concert band, the assistant director of the “Pride” Marching Band, taught classes in conducting, music technology and music theory. While at the high school level, he taught the marching band, symphonic and concert bands, AP music theory, full orchestra and beginning brass classes. His UIL performing ensembles consistently earned Sweepstakes awards both on the field and in the concert hall and was also a finalist at the 4A State Marching Band Contest in 2009.

An active clinician around the country and marching band show designer, Stuart has designed competition shows and drill for multiple state finalists in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey and Arizona. He has also been involved in the Drum and Bugle Corps activity for nearly 20 years as a performer and staff member with the Santa Clara Vanguard, Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and the Academy.

Stuart holds a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Ottawa University. Stuart enjoys traveling, board gaming, and enjoying the summer weather with his wife Rachel, newborn son Ryker, and their three dogs; Jazzy, Phoebe and Dani.
